Your hosts for the weekend are the WAL co-founders: Jennifer Desrosiers is a certified yoga instructor, certified holistic health coach, and founder of Laney & Lu Cafe. Emmy Katz is a Board Certified Physician Assistant - practicing in Functional Medicine and Certified Holistic Health Coach. 

Our mission: We believe in moving beyond limits, fueling joy with experiences, and that adventure is in all things.

KAREN KENNEY
is a writer, speaker, spiritual mentor, and certified Gateless Writing teacher. She leads her popular workshops at various retreat centers around the country, like the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, NY and the Art of Living Retreat Center in Boone, NC. She’s been a full-time yoga teacher since 2001 and for 13 years she was the producer and host of The Yoga Show With Karen on ConcordTV. Karen is at work on her memoir Wicked Hard and her podcast, of the same name, is currently also in development. She grew up in Lawrence, MA and now lives in NH with her husband and seven furry kids.   Learn more about Karen, here.

JOANNA CHIPI
grew up on the breezy beaches of York Beach, ME as a high level gymnast. After suffering many injuries, her gymnastics career came to a screeching halt. Shortly after, she was introduced to Bikram Yoga. With a love for a physical challenge and having a lifelong passion for coaching and teaching, it was no surprise that the universe came knocking on her door with a yoga teacher training opportunity. Now, Jo packs the studio at 3 Bridges Yoga, and leads many workshop offerings and dreamy retreats at Blue Spirit in Nosara, Costa Rica. Get lost in Jo's energy, here.

JEAN DONNELLY
is a 500 hour registered yoga teacher, a poet and a mother of three boys. Originally from Washington, D.C., Jean moved to the Seacoast area of New Hampshire in 2009 and instantly fell in love with the beauty and spirit of the region. Jean believes in the transformative power of the practice of yoga to ground, inspire and heal. She has studied many styles of yoga including Iyengar, Anusara, Baptiste and LivFree Power Yoga. She teaches heated vinyasa classes weekly at Soulfire Power Yoga in Greenland and Hot Asana Yoga in Hampstead where she challenges her students to connect to the power, courage, and love of their true self. Be inspired by Jean, here.

LOCATION

Alnoba (pronounced all-noum-bah) comes from the Abenaki people, a Native American tribe that settled in New Hampshire in the early 1500s. Alnoba refers to the lifelong journey of human transformation and how we are rooted in the consciousness of our birthplace and continually transforming from the point of birth. It is a beautiful gathering place situated on 400 acres of serene woodlands in Kensington, NH. To say Alnoba is a hidden gem is an understatement. Wonderfully secluded and easily accessible, Alnoba is located 1 hour from Boston, Concord, NH, and Portland, ME. It is 25 minutes from Portsmouth, NH, and conveniently located near Routes 495 and 95.

During your stay, you will experience:

ACCOMMODATIONS

Alnoba offers homey cabins for overnight accommodations. They feature intimate group-style living. Each cabin, nestled in the woods and within walking distance to the Lodge, sleep 6-12 guests and include a bathroom(s), common living room, screened porch, and full kitchen. 

FOOD & BEVERAGE

Nutrition is a vital part of your retreat experience. Our food will be vegetarian (with vegan options) and beautifully crafted by the Alnoba Culinary Team. It will include sustainably-grown, seasonal vegetables, harvested from the farm right on the property. Special dietary needs will be honored. Filtered water, hot tea, and healthy snacks will be provided throughout the day.
